That Rings a Bell!
Nancy Hascall,
nationally known handbell composer, director,
and performer, of Lake Oswego will perform a
concert of solo handbell music using her famed
four-in-hand ringing technique. She will also
conduct and perform with the Good Samaritan
Handbell Ensemble.

The First Annual Gladys “Pat” Beal Memorial
Concert
Cleveland Rocks
Douglas Cleveland
is considered by critics and musicians across
the country to be one of America’s finest
organists. He is a past first prize winner of
both the American Guild of Organists National
Young Artists Competition in Organ Playing and
the Fort Wayne Competition.

Tutti Flutti
Diane Hawkins will
perform a concert of music composed for the
flute. She will use three types of flute
including the traverso flute (17th
century), the modern flute, and a Native
American flute.
Sunday, December 2 (First Sunday Bonus
Concert)
Abendmusik
A service of
Evensong will be presented followed by an organ
concert by Myles J. Criss. In celebration of
the music of Dietrich Buxtehude (1637-1707),
Mr. Criss will perform works by the Danish
composer.
Sunday, December 16 (Third Sunday to avoid
the Christmas weekend)
Lessons
and Carols
The Good Samaritan
Choir, directed by Dr. R. Ward Scott, will
present a traditional service of Lessons and
Carols. The service is modeled after the
concert given at King’s College.
Sunday, January 27
Buxtehude and Beyond
Organist Julia
Brown of Eugene along with her colleagues from
the University of Oregon will present music for
organ, strings, and ensembles. The group
specializes in early music performance practices
and musical interpretations therein.
Sunday, February 24
The Third Annual Children’s Concert
This concert will
take place in Simpson Hall, and it is for
children of all ages. Anne Ridlington, cello,
and her ensemble will present an interactive
program of music to educate the audience about
music, musical instruments, and performance of
live music.

Annual Johann Sebastian Bach Birthday Concert
Johann Sebastian
Bach (1685-1750) was one of the greatest figures
of Western art music. With musicians from the
Corvallis area, his compositions will be
performed.
Sunday, April 27
Sing to the Lord!
A choral festival
conducted by Tim Seelig will feature several
area church choirs in concert. The choirs will
learn the music with their own directors, and in
a workshop on Saturday, Mr. Seelig will rehearse
and prepare the choirs to perform the choral
works together.

Service of Thanksgiving and Remembrance
This annual liturgy
of music and prose brings the community a
reminder of our many blessings and talents.
Performers include many from the Good Samaritan
Music Program, as well as musicians from
throughout the mid-valley community.
